Who this covers

This privacy notice applies to the personal portfolio website operated by Krish Gounder at www.krishgounder.com (the “Site”). The Site showcases design and media work, an about section, written thoughts, and contact details. It is not a commercial product with user accounts.

What this site does not do

• It does not require you to create an account or sign in.
• It does not sell personal information.
• It does not run a server-side contact form that stores your messages. Mail opens in your own email client (or you can copy the address yourself).

Information you may choose to share

If you email Krish Gounder at krishneelg3@gmail.com or reach out through a linked social profile, that conversation happens outside this Site (for example, through your email provider or the social platform). Only what you send in that message is shared, and it is handled like ordinary professional correspondence.

Information stored in your browser

A few preferences stay on your device so the Site feels consistent when you return:

• Colour mode (paper / ink) and accent theme — saved in local storage so your choice persists.
• Kudos token — if you tap the kudos control in the footer, a random anonymous ID is saved in local storage so the same browser cannot register unlimited duplicate kudos. This ID is not your name, email, or login.

You can clear these anytime by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

Kudos

The public kudos counter stores only the anonymous visitor token described above, so each browser can contribute once. No other profile information is collected for kudos.

Hosting, analytics, and logs

The Site is hosted on Vercel. Like most websites, standard technical logs and delivery metrics may be processed by the host (for example IP address, request URL, user agent, and approximate timing) to operate, secure, and improve the service.

The Site may also use Vercel Analytics and, when configured in the CMS, optional Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager. These tools help understand aggregate traffic (pages viewed, approximate geography, device type). IP addresses used with Google Analytics on this Site are configured with IP anonymization where that option is enabled.

Third-party analytics providers process data under their own policies. You can limit tracking with browser settings, extensions, or industry opt-outs such as Google’s ads settings where applicable.

Embedded and outbound links

Case studies and thoughts may include media or links to external sites (project URLs, social profiles, and similar). Those destinations have their own privacy practices. Leaving this Site means their terms apply.

Cookies and similar technologies

Preference and kudos features above use local storage rather than marketing cookies. Hosting and analytics providers may set their own cookies or similar technologies when those services are active. Essential delivery of the Site does not depend on accepting advertising cookies.

How long information is kept

Browser preferences remain until you clear them. Anonymous kudos tokens are kept so the one-per-browser rule continues to work; they are not used to build a personal profile. Hosting and analytics retention follows the defaults of those providers unless otherwise configured.

Children

The Site is aimed at a general professional audience and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

This notice may be updated when the Site’s features or providers change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when that happens.
